Attractions On a Kish Island Tour
Harira (Harireh)
To the north of Kish Island lies the ruins of the historical town of Harireh. Once a lively port filled with merchants, Harireh is now an attraction on Kish Island Tours. With a flourishing economy, Harireh was a commercial center that connected China, North Africa and Europe around 800 years ago. Ruins of houses, a congregational mosque, a public bathhouse, rock-cut wells, and qanats (ancient Persian water channels). Once, Harireh used to be filled with workshops for producing date nectar, Kish Island’s major export at that time.

Kariz Underground City
Like in many other parts of Iran, water was precious in the ancient Kish. That’s why ancient Iranians came up with the idea of qanats: smart underground water channels that lead water into arid areas with gently sloping vertical wells to collect, purify and store water. Kariz Underground City is a network of stone passageways around a historic qanat. With around 2500 years of history, this highlight of Kish Island Tours is 16 meters below the surface.
Greek Ship of Kish
Built in Glasgow in 1943, this old cargo steamship ended up as a nice destination for the sunsets in Kish Island. How? After its stop in Kish in 1966, it was to leave toward Greece, but every effort to pull it out was in vain. So, it was abandoned. Now, together with the sea, it has created a nice backdrop for enjoyable walks, horse rides, and bicycle rides.

Green Tree Complex
Built around an old banyan tree, the Green Tree Complex of Kish Island is the place for a pleasant walk. A native of India and China, these unique-looking banyan trees were introduced to the Persian Gulf a few hundred years ago. This 600-year-old tree is in the northern part of the island. Believing that it makes their wishes come true, some tie threads on the visible roots of this tree.
Things to Do in Kish Island
Exciting Water Sports
Water adventures are probably of the most popular things to do on a Kish Island tour. Fun activities like water skiing, parasailing, jet skiing, sailing and kayaking, underwater ventures like snorkeling and scuba diving, and relaxing fishing and boating experiences are of the activities you could enjoy with your friends or family. Glass-bottom boats that show you the colorful life in the Persian Gulf will also be a nice treat of the island.

Passing through various sceneries and lovely beaches, stopping by nice restaurants and cafés, and discovering the natural and historical highlights on a bike is a popular way to tour Kish Island.
