Day 1: Shiraz- Persepolis- Naqsh-e Rajab

We’ll meet in Shiraz in the morning and begin our adventure with a road trip to Persepolis (60 km). After our guide brings the glory of the 2500-year-old complex into life, we’ll head out for Naqsh-e Rajab (around 7 km) to discover ancient reliefs. Another road trip (around 80 km) brings us to a traditional restaurant near Pasargadae where we’ll taste a unique lunch. Beside eating dishes inspired from ancient Iranian dishes, we’ll explore the eating habits of ancient Persians. To further explore these habits and discover the role of grapevine and grape syrup in Persian culture, we will head toward a garden nearby and delight in the local traditions for making grape syrup. We’ll pick grapes, juice them the traditional way, and make a delicious grape syrup. Then, we’ll get a ride toward an ecolodge that belongs to a local family.
