Meet us up at your Yazd accommodation and start your cultural exploration with an 80-kilometer road trip to enter the 1000-year-old Kharanaq Village (meaning ‘the Birthplace of the Sun’). Walking through the mud-brick ruins of the narrow pathways, tunnels and rooms and visiting its Qajar-era mosque, Shaking Minaret and caravanserai will make you feel like an ancient inhabitant of the city.

Following that, make your way toward Chak Chak (41 km), the spiritual refuge of thousands of Zoroastrian pilgrims. Enjoy a light hike to the most sacred of Zoroastrian mountain temples and listen to your guide tell you about the ancient Iranian religion and the captivating story behind the name Chak Chak (meaning drip drip).

Then move on to the historical Meybod where you’ll find Narin Castle, the legendary castle of King Solomon with parts dating back to more than 6000 years ago! Also visit the perfect epitome of historical caravanserais that were built to welcome tired travelers, Shah Abbasi Caravanserai. The other impressive sites you’ll visit before heading back to Yazd (55 km) are the mud-brick Icehouse of Meybod which is a masterpiece of sustainable engineering and the impressive Pigeon Tower.
