Bakhtiari Nomads
These migrants of Zagros Mountains are excellent artists and masters of creating gorgeous weavings and handicrafts. With the highlands of Zagros Mountains as their summer home, you can find them in near Isfahan on your Iran Nomad Tours. Qashqai Nomads
Originally from the northwest of Iran, these Turkic-speaking people gradually made the Zagros Mountains their home. It was this nomadic tribe that had the most influence of all on the Iranian history. Probably the most famous of all tribal weavings, the lovely rugs Qashqai women create are popular for their unique patterns and rich colors. At different times around the year, you can find the Qashqai in Fars, Khuzestan, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad, Bushehr and Isfahan Provinces. Felt caps that look like tulips, wide-legged pants, a long silk coat with traditional patterns, and a shawl wrapped around their waist.
Shahsavan Nomads
The Shahsavan nomads came into existence when Shah Abbas organized a unified militia from different tribes! Now, these mainly Turkish speaking nomads are probably the most culturally-untouched tribe of all Iranian nomadic tribes. The devoted way they stick to their unique traditional tent and traditional clothing is reflective of this untouched culture. Today, they roam the green northwestern provinces of Azerbaijan and Ardabil, between Mount Sabalan and Mughan Plain.
